The music on these two albums are much much better than the McGouch & McGear disc which contained a less than interresting appearance by Hendrix and some comic curios.

I just sent out a new tape that I bought from ROIR a couple years ago (still in plastic wrap) to Digital Pickle out of California who just digitized it and sent me some great MP3′s. Let me know if your interested.

I was reading a review of this album the other day, and I had to hear it in it’s entirety…thanx for the opportunity again. I have 3 vinyl copies, but no turntable. I have WingSpan which gives me a decent selection from the album. But for the life of me I dont understand why this person was panning this album?!? Most of the reviews that panned it back at the time of it’s release have all but disappeared. At the time, I thought it was some great rocking! Too Many People, Heart of the Country, Monkberry Moon Delight and one of my all time favorite Macca Songs, Smile Away!

I have Pillow and Takes Off in my vinyl collection, and actually they are there for my ‘completist’ type attitude towards Moby Grape.
Surrealistic Pillow is still my fave JA album, some great tunes on here! Today, Comin Back to Me, Embryonic Journey and Plastic Fantastic Lover…not to mention the obvious…although I really have to get that image of Jim Carrey out of my head every time I hear Somebody to Love…

I had an opportunity to see the Turtles, but unfortunately it didnt work out that night. My next opportunity came when Flo & Eddie were playing at the infamous El Mocambo in Toronto. We drove over but unfortunately it was sold out. So we sat in the bar downstairs and had a few drinks. About an hour later the whole downstairs bar starts to fill with smoke, and the waiter tells us, ‘oh nothing to worry about, Flo & Eddie just started their show, and decided to get the big wrap up, ‘Cream-style’ ending, with flames and smoke and everything out of the way first, so they could concentrate on playing music!’
Still havent seen any of em!
But this looks like a great collection! (other than not including King Kamanawanaleiya)
