Whoa! I have no idea what’s in this, but I must have it and listen to it — and thanks to you and to Grateful for this.

Working my way through this, many thanks Cap’n W.

I REALLY DIG the mono version of the first lp. I owned that one on cd (probably an early, late-80s pressing, so I can’t speak to later versions), but it just sounded horrible to me, too much high end that gave me listening fatigue, so I gave it to a friend. Hearing this mono version is a revelation, it’s so much more solid sounding, well-rounded in highs & lows & clearer vocals.

I had a similar revelation with a couple JA releases (Takes Off & S Pillow). I have cd releases that are different from your Wormhole posts. Mine are the stereo versions followed by the mono versions. The monos are great. What I give up in headphone headtrips, I gain in musical intensity. For example Casady’s awesome bass riffs on Let Me In sound way better in mono. I understand the Beatles mono releases are good too, gonna have to look into those someday.

    Anyway, thanks again for #36
