Sgt. Pepper’s Multi-Track Masters (1967)
The Beatles In The Studio, Track By Track
Hearing what The Beatles were able to accomplish with only 4 tracks (and a bit of bouncing) on Sgt. Pepper’s is pretty amazing. Here are four incredibly clean master tapes, where you can listen to the isolated tracks of Paul’s bass & Ringo’s drums (“A Day In The Life”), Ringo alone with his background vocalists (“With A Little Help From My Friends“) or just George’s electric lead & George Martin’s horns (“Sgt. Pepper’s”). If you’ve got audio software, you can make your own mixes. Admittedly, this is more for historians and fanatics, but it’s still a fascinating view of rock music’s greatest practitioners. Hear just John & Paul singing on “She’s Leaving Home,” below (there’s a silent 10 second intro).
1-Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band (Audience Sounds)
2-Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band (Bass, Guitars, Drums)
3-Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band (Lead & Background Vocals)
4-Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band (Lead Guitar, Horns)
1-With A Little Help From My Friends (Lead Bass, Guitar Fill, Percussion)
2-With A Little Help From My Friends (Piano, Guitar Fill, Bass, Drums)
3-With A Little Help From My Friends (Lead & Background Vocals)
4-With A Little Help From My Friends (Lead Guitar, Background Vocals)
1-She’s Leaving Home (Harp, Strings)
2-She’s Leaving Home (Harp, Strings)
3-She’s Leaving Home (Lead Vocals, Background Vocals)
4-She’s Leaving Home (Background Vocals)
1-A Day In The Life (Guitar, Piano, Lead & BG Vocals, Mal’s Middle Count)
2-A Day In The Life (Guitar, Piano, Percussion, Lead & BG Vocals, Mal’s End Count)
3-A Day In The Life (Piano, Orchestra)
4-A Day In The Life (Bass, Drums)

FAB4ulous… thank you so much. Dr. Dream
Hard to believe Sgt. Pepper's is 42 years old. It is amazing to realize the sounds they were able to produce with just 4 tracks & their imaginations. Still a great record, & no, I don't think it's dated at all, as a lot of people claim. I still play it regularly, & will be waiting in line September 9th for the new re-mastered edition. Can't wait to hear it in mono. Thanks for the isolated tracks. Cool stuff.
Ditto.
You may already know what I think about this album…
Have you heard 'Revolved' 2XCD lots of outakes and then mono version of 'Revolver'. Truly outstanding…

Been wandering around listening to these today. Thanks much for a great site.
Not just yet, Mona.
Nice artwork, Michael.

Just discovered it…
Thanks a lot..!
Excellent post
Yes is there anyplace to get the rest of the album? I"m having a blast plugging these files into Garageband and "remixing" them all different ways. Amazing the things you aren't supposed to hear when you listen to the isolated tracks. Thanks so very much, this is a music nerd's dream.
can't stop listening. and a new way to listen to the whole album too.
thank you so much fot this
cheers K
Fantastic. Amazing to hear the vocals-only track … didn't notice the harmony at the end of "She's Leaving Home" before. The studio trickery was so minimal; a lot of bands these days would have trouble without it.
i got chills listening to the vox on she's leaving home.
Thank you!!!
Brilliant! Thank you so much!

I once purchased a 4 discrete channel reel-to-reel version of this back in the sixties and was later able to play it properly through my Teac A-2340 tape deck. Still have the deck – but where’d that tape go?
Hey, would you mind re-upping these master tracks? It would be greatly appreciated.
The DF link is working fine.
