Chains & Black Exhaust (2002)
Bad Ass Guitar & Funk Weirdness
Fantastic, low-budget various artist collection of obscure 60s/70s funk tracks. It’s been stated that this release was originally limited to 1000 copies… and that a reissue appeared in 2008, identical to the original except missing the track “Showstopper” by Iron Knowledge. Beyond that, you’re kinda on your own when it comes to these cool, long-lost tracks – as the original CD featured no track listings or band names (though, fanatics have since pieced together the details). Sourced from vinyl, the emphasis is on dirty guitar weirdness (think Eddie Hazel or pre-fame Hendrix), while the surface noise is essential.
