JELLYFISH Spilt Milk x 3

Spilt Milk (1993)
Spilt Milk - Demos (2002)
Stack-A-Tracks (Disc 2)
Spilt Milk - No Vocals (2012)
Pure Pop In Three Dimensions

Submitted for your approval, three different versions of Jellyfish’s powerhouse pop LP, Spilt Milk. The first, naturally, is the exquisite 1993 original, brimming with melodious invention and flair. The All Music Guide calls it “a flawless pop gem.” Take two comes from Jellyfish’s Fan Club rarities box – an almost full set of “demos” that are, actually, more like alternate takes, sporting subtly different arrangements and/or instrumentation. Take three is brand new, from 2012, Stack-A-Tracks (disc 2). An officially released version contains almost all of the album’s master tracks without the lead vocals – crisp, stripped and high quality. Cool, huh? Below you can hear the three different versions of “Bye Bye Bye.”

Thanks, Willard! I have it on good authority that I will be receiving a copy of John Borack’s “Shake Some Action” book on his purported top 200 power pop albums so I’m scouring the net to gather them all prior to digging in. This looks like a lot of fun :)

Thank you very much Willard. These guys (the two of them Andy and Roger) were/are absolutely brilliant, and this is one of the most outstanding albums ever – better than any Beatles album in my opinion and I really like the Beatles and so did these two guys. I lent my CD out a few years ago and never got it back. They also did some non album tracks that are gems, would you happen to have them also?
    Peace,
    Mark
