A beautiful version of the song, he sings it with the wisdom of his years , it is almost a lament for the last 40 odd years. thank you for sharing it.

Why no close ups?
Simple & eloquent from his Bobness. Laugh at his voice all you want (& I'm still laughing at his Christmas album), but the man has written some truly masterful songs & sounds like he's travelled that weary road a time or two. Be thankful Obama was hip enough to invite Dylan to play. Palin couldn't spell 'Dylan' if it was written on both her fucking hands.
unfortunately, he's wrong… in DC, it's the same old song, with a different face since Bush has been gone. but things never change, do they?
This surprised me by really grabbing me emotionally. The arrangement is wonderful, and Bob does seem into it. Forty-five years ago this song sounded hopeful, with a tinge of sadness. Now it sounds sad, with a tinge of hopefulness. Thanks for turning me on to this performance.
Nice assessment. Thanks.
Liar or not…
Bob gave us much while ripping us.
Like the great seer, Walter Brennan, once said , "No lie, just fact". Dylan continues to amaze & startle the yokels. No lie, just fact.
