I’m just listening to this. A very good but not so great album. I prefer his Butterfield excursions. But this is surely something to to be passed by…..

Oh my gosh, Willard!!!! Thank you for sharing this!!!!

I was only 12 years old, but I vividly remember my Uncle coming home raving about this show he’d seen the night before. He told me he was going back that night to see the rest of it (as it ran over the course of two nights). It wasn’t too long after that he got “Big Science” and I was totally hooked.

I have always wondered what the show itself was like, because he was so effusive. He told me she spoke, danced, played the violin, told jokes, sang, showed visuals…….I’m listening to it right now, I’m getting chills!

Strangely, though I loved Big Science, and loved Mister Heartbreak….I never got into (or bought) any of her subsequent work, almost feeling guilty about it! I love that she ended up with Lou!

Anyways, thanks for letting me reminisce, but mostly thanks for posting these historic performances!

PS: People, it’s not an “album”, it’s a recording of a four-hour performance art piece, spread out over the course of two nights. It should be judged on those merits, not as an album (for which you should directly proceed to “Big Science” and “Mister Heartbreak”, both fantastic “albums”)
