A Round And A Bout (1990)
Argybargy (Deluxe Edition) (1980/2008)
With A Bonus Disc, Live At Hammersmith, 1980.
A reader suggested A Round And A Bout, but it seemed to be missing from the search engines, so our pal Reggie was kind enough to deliver the goods. I hadn’t heard Squeeze’s live album since it came out in 1990, and can’t remember why I never owned it. But, it’s a totally enjoyable listen. Sharp, perky performances. Figured we combine it with an essential… and one of the all time greats, Argybargy. The Deluxe Edition offers up some demos and alternates, along with a bonus disc recorded live at Hammersmith. Amazon has a 2010 Deluxe and A Round, too. Thanks Reg.

FORUM ALERT: Speak of the devil… Reggie also runs his own blog, Music My Owner Listens To [And Other Musings], but has routinely shared stuff with us over the years (sometimes filling requests, like the Squeeze album above). Next week (December 1st) Reggie’s opening up his own forum called Cranky Bastard. You can sign up now and/or poke around and/or hang out and/or share stuff… and it’s just like you were hanging around with your pals in the middle of the night in your underwear. Enjoy.

Thanks so much for the kind words Willard. Your description of the forum sounds great, but if you do show up in your underwear: no funny stuff.
FYI: That’s how I always show up. Good luck on the project.
Thanks…darn, I had A Round & A Bout. Thanks for the deluxe version. I have the box set of the first 6 LPs and they are just the original records.
I have a show (07/19/82 Orpheum Theatre Boston) that is soundboard. It is a good listen, though the boys seems in a hurry and the bpm is a bit high?
You’re free to post it. Just include the bit rate and any details. Thanks.
ArgyBargy is my all time favorite Squeeze release, and didn’t even know there was a Deluxe out. And the other looks delightful as well. Many thanks for this, and all of your other posts and information as well. Very much appreciated.
Only female pals see me in my underwear or in theirs.
Listening to it now, great music to start a working Monday with, thanks again!
Thanks for posting. Squeeze put out some good stuff down the years – check out Glen Tilbrook live if you get the chance. Now, what I would love to see posted is Cosi Fan Tutti Frutti – their first LP after reforming in 1985. Really hard to get hold of but some great songs.
HERE you go on Cossi Fan Tutti Frutti (+ 2 Bonus Tracks) @320.
I wondered why I hadn’t seen any posting from Reggie at f—–. I guess that his new forum is (kind of) the answer why. I love the name he’s chosen for it!
Love Squeeze. Their last great album was Ridiculous, btw, which US A&M passed on, to their eternal shame. Came out on IRS here. Brilliant stuff, though Difford thought it was overproduced (by Tilbrook). I beg to differ, strongly.
I went to purchase this and it’s out of print. Thanks for sharing it. If you happen to get the Complete BBC Sessions please post.
this Hammersmith show is un-freakin-real! wow! thanks a ton, and your blog-site is top of the line stuff!
I know I’m arriving late but is it too much asking for a true 320kbps version of Argybargy (Deluxe)? Thanks in any case.
Hi Stone,
Sorry, but the 256 VBR is all I’ve got.
No problem, Captain. Thanks again.
Willard,
Great stuff! Never heard ‘Live at Hammersmith Odeon’ before and I’m really looking forward to hearing it. Another great band form across the pond. Keep up the great work and I’ll see ya around.
Love
Newman
