National Lampoon (1970-1998)

stack-o-natlampsNational Lampoon Magazine 1970-1998

Every issue we could muster, in .pdf form, thanks to The Internet Archive and Not Very Pretty Music. The inaugural year began in April 1970, and some of the later years may be missing a few issues – or seems so, due to the erratic print schedule during the magazine’s decline, but this should be all you need to relieve your youth. Happy reading.

Thanks Willard, hope these warp my mind the same way they did in ’73. The NL High School Yearbook is a masterpiece, I’m glad I saved it.

Wow. It’s the adverts that get me more than anything. The 70s seemed so hip, trendoid, disco, all those things a refugee from the late 60s hated in music (disco, hair metal, you name it). Now the ads. Turntables, cassettes meant to outlast you, cigarettes everywhere, Bose speakers instead of Lifestyle systems. I’m wincing mentally. The 70s didn’t age well, did they?

Reading this is like stepping back into time. This is such a nice, unexpected surprise to find these issues. It’s X-mas in April!

    Thanks, Willard!!
