The wormhole works in mysterious ways. I read the article about these Wackers or whatever, and the name of the Flamin’ Groovies leapt out at me, a band I never heard. So I checked it out on the tube and they’re LOTS of fun! Maybe you should consider putting up a little bit of your presumably vast collection of Flamin’ Grrovies material?

    Still haven’t heard the Wackers…

Hot Wacks is a classic. A very strong, if short, LP. Most of side two (tracks 6-12) should be enjoyed as a single track, of course. If your mp3 player is seamless enough, and you don’t use “shuffle play”, you’re good to go. Otherwise, do what I did, and rip or reassemble into a 14 minute “Side Two Medley” a la Abbey Road (or most of the good Moody Blues LP’s).

Their tune “Captain Nemo” is worth seeking out, too. Off a Bomp records compilation, as I recall. And the post-Wackers album by the Dudes, We’re No Angels, has some killer tunes, as well. (Not to mention an ill-conceived Disco-Abba-Busby Berkeley vibe to the cover graphic.) “Saturday Night” had the misfortune to come out after a similarly titled Bay City Rollers single, but “Fuel Injection” shoulda been a hit.
