Timothy White’s Rock Stars
(Show #006 – August 10-16, 1987)
Rare Syndicated Radio Show With Unreleased Tracks

RE-UPPED I’m not a Roger Waters fan, but since you are here’s a syndicated radio broadcast you might like. The short-lived Timothy White’s Rock Stars comes complete with exclusive interview segments, music & commercials. Fans will desire this set for two rarities; Roger’s unreleased demo, “Get Back To Radio,” the composition that spawned the concept for Radio K.A.O.S. (which Waters was promoting at the time), and a live performance of Pink Floyd’s “If,” by Roger Waters’ Bleeding Heart Band. The entire show runs over 82 minutes and is sourced from the original syndicated CDs.

Segment One (19:02)
– “Radio Waves” – Roger Waters
– “Get Back To Radio” (Unreleased Demo) – Roger Waters
– “Sunset Strip” – Roger Waters

Segment Two
– “Have A Cigar” – Pink Floyd
– “See Emily Play” – Pink Floyd

Segment Three
– “Shine On You Crazy Diamond Pt. 5” – Pink Floyd

Wow. I used to be a Floyd/Waters fan but grew out of that.

However, the "Get Back to Radio" demo is amazing, kind of the bridge between Pros and Cons and Radio KAOS, an album dated as soon as it came out. Ah, if only he'd have stuck with where it was going…not a nuclear/political manifesto but something deeper, more profound, about the soul of music.

Pros and Cons holds up amazingly well, KAOS is dated even moreso today.

    Thanks for the up!

I’m a huge Waters fan and I love Timothy white as well ever since he interviewed roger in 1987 on the Penthouse magazine. I learned so much about what happened and how manipulative David Gilmour was. How Roger got back stabbed by Bob Ezrin, how Delicte Sound of Thunder was created with over 40 collaborators and that John Carin wrote Learning to Fly.
    Thanks for this interview.
