The Beach Girls And The Monster (1965)

THE BEACH GIRLS AND THE MONSTER (a.k.a. Monster From The Surf) (1965) Girls in bikinis, monsters and surf music. What more do you need? A plot? Forget it. It’s basically a guy in a rubber suit killing beach babes. The “Watusi Dancing Girls” are supposedly some of the famous white-booted go-go girls from The Whiskey A Go-Go. According to the book, Pop Surf Culture, “the soundtrack of The Beach Girls And The Monster has got to rank up there among the best … no fewer than 13 different sections of full-bore, deep-reverb tank surf instrumentals throb the soundtrack” (courtesy of a Riverside, CA band called The Illusions, who had already been turned down by Capitol Records and others).
